Abstract

To enhance running performance of elite runners development of lightweight shoes, resilient midsole cushioning materials, and high bending stiffness midsole plate are in progress (Hoogkamer et al., 2017). In addition to these factors, we focused on forefoot strike pattern (FFS) and midfoot strike pattern (MFS). We hypothesized that FFS and MFS could use Stretch-Shortening Cycle, which has been suggested as an element to enhance running performance (Paavolaien et al., 1985).
