Survey materials obtained by using the method of content analysis and tag-cloud techniques allowed to form index of corporate social responsibility development and to evaluate the activity of Russian business to preserve and restore the environment. Purpose . The aim of the work is to determine the dominant practices of CSR in Russia and to identify the nature of the processes of interaction between Russian companies and stakeholders. Methodology . As a methodological basis of the research was used the content analysis of the texts posted on corporate websites, as well as a tag-clouds technique for information from pages of the companies in the social networks. Results . Analysis of the index values of corporate social responsibility suggests that the majority of the largest Russian companies are in the initial stage of formation of CSR strategies and do not pay enough attention to the protection of the environment. Practical implications .
