Abstract

Recently, photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) using laser or light emitting diode (LED) as a light source has been used as a treatment for sports-related disorders. Until now, lasers or LEDs have been mainly used, but a light source that combines laser and LED is also used. In this paper, we will introduce the effects of PBMT before and after exercise, and the effects of PBMT on muscle damage, focusing on recent research reports, and discuss the possibility of using PBMT in clinical settings in future.
