Abstract

High wave with long wave period, which is known by local residents as “Yorimawari-Nami”, hit the east coast of Toyama Prefecture on February 24, 2008. The high wave, in particular, caused huge human and property damages in Ashisaki district of Nyuzen town. The purpose of this study is, at first, to examine coastal damages induced by the swelllike wave throughout filed surveys.
