Abstract
A sinuous antenna, projected onto a pyramidal structure, is presented as a possible wide band single pixel feed candidate for the Square Kilometre Array reflector system. Simulated results indicate a significant trade-off between reflection coefficient and receiving sensitivity performance, while optimal performance is similar to the other candidate antennas. This antenna might present an advantage in terms of size, but significant challenges remain in the design of a wide band and low loss feeding network.
