Abstract

A strain of the cyanobacterium Anacystis nidulans has been isolated which is tolerant to lead. This strain exhibits increased photosynthetic oxygen evolution and lacks a 36 kDa peptide which is associated with the oxygen evolution mechanism. There is an increase in the level of a 12 kDa peptide whose function is uncertain.
