Abstract

There are about as many different types of electro-magnetic pumps as there are electric motors, mostly complementary to each other with their own special field of application. As a guide to pump selection, about a dozen of the more important types of electro-magnetic pump are described, including their principle of operation, field of application and operating characteristics. Manufacturing problems are not discussed but every pump mentioned has been made and tested or feasibility studies completed with chief manufacturing difficulties overcome.
