This article discusses the theoretical borders that separate adaptations of literary texts (by professional writers) and the activities of fans, especially fanfictions of The Phantom of the Opera. The theoretical approach brings the notion of “transcreation” and authors from the field of fan studies. The results include the recognition of fanfictions as a type of literary adaptation, and the notion of The Phantom of the Opera as an archive or as “archontic literature”.

This paper combines a content analysis of 3 831 articles in the German press with eight qualitative interviews with correspondents in the region to assess aspects of ethnocentrism in the news. We considered events from 2000 to 2014 in the following publications: the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Tageszeitung, and Der Spiegel. One-quarter of the analysed events shows a German self-reference, although this involvement is sectorial. Apolitical areas of coverage tend to show a higher level of ethnocentrism. Besides, news items signed by correspondents are less ethnocentric.

We present a state-of-the-art about the relationship between the feeling of insecurity, moral panic, wave of violence, and fear of crime, attending to psycho-social dispositions and Mass Media influence, along with the potential benefits of citizen participation spaces, approaching Neighborhood Councils in Cordoba, Argentina. We notice that Mass Media provoke the increase in fear of crime as well firm up favorable positions into punitivism. On the other hand, we observe conditions for a critical view of media strategies that are not given in Neighborhood Councils.

The objective of this research is to analyze the critical-discursive capacity of the contemporary persuasive videogame. We have analyzed the ten most popular mobile titles whose central theme is the crisis in Spain from 2008 to 2015, using a methodology based on the theory of possible worlds and procedural rhetoric. The results show how parody is used as the main playful catalyst in the treatment of facts denounced at a social level which are, in turn, the elements that make up the mechanics and dynamics of the game experience.
