Background: Cupping therapy is one of the traditional medical technologies practiced for thousands of years. it might have some additional benefits on early rehabilitation for post-stroke complications. Aim of the work: to examine if the use of cupping technique as a therapeutic model in treatment of discogenic low back pain has a significant impact or not. Methodology: 60 Patients divided into two equal groups were participated in this study: Group 1 treated by conventional post-stroke therapy and Group 2 treated by wet cupping in addition to conventional post-stroke therapy. The national institute of health stroke scale (NIHSS) index was sed as patients assessment tool for neurologic deficit evaluation motor functions is assessed by the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) scale, the healing process depended on the bedside swallowing assessment (BSA). For cognitive function, the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) have been used, and any undesirable effect of wet cupping were noted for safety evaluation. Results: Better results have been documented with wet cupping therapy. Statistically significant improvement in pain reduction for both techniques of cupping (dry & wet) when compared to conventional medical therapy without augmentation with cupping therapy. Conclusion:Significant Effect of Hijama (Wet cupping) in post-stroke rehabilitation.

One in eight people receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, making it one of the most frequent malignancies. Post-traumatic growth (PTG), which is defined by positive changes in functioning in a variety of life dimensions, is often brought on by this traumatic event. The research that has previously been done on PTG and breast cancer is critically examined in this work. After a thorough search using reliable resources, 25–30 articles were found six of them were chosen based on predetermined standards. The results showcase that post-traumatic growth in the areas of greater appreciation for life and better relationships is common among breast cancer survivors. There are multiple factors involved in this occurrence. Though extreme sequelae may have the opposite effect on PTG, perceived emotional intensityand mild sequelae all positively influence PTG. Coping mechanisms, especially those that are adaptive, are proven essential to PTG.The PTG process is aided by social resources like contact with PTG models (cancer survivors), support from ones spouse and co-workers, and quality of marital support. In PTG, demographic considerations also come into play. There is a positive correlation between higher PTG and younger age, lower education level, and lack of college degree. However, the analysis resulted in mixed results over the association between time since diagnosis and PTG, which calls for additional qualitative study in the area. Given the limitations of self-report measures, the subjectivity of researcher interpretations, and the emphasis on a Western population, care must be taken when interpreting these results. However, our analysis provides significant insights for clinicians and researchers and underscores the potential for promoting posttraumatic growth in breast cancer patients and survivors.

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is characterized by a localized serous detachment of the neuroretina (DSR), associated with detachments of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) at the posterior pole [1]and a leakage of fluid in the subretinal space. Pregnancy, Type A personality, and systemic corticosteroid therapy are the main risk factors for Central Serous Chorioretinopathy [ 2] We report the case of a patient who developed central serous chorioretinopathy following the oral intake of 20mg tadalafil erectile dysfunction, suggesting a possible involvement of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors as a risk factor for central serous chorioretinopathy.

Introduction: Sepsis is defined as a potentially fatal organ dysfunction caused by an unbalanced host response to infection. The primary objective of the study is to correlate serum lactate with the results of sepsis. The secondary objective of the study is to find associations of lactate in serum with the various etiological factors of sepsis and to correlate serum lactate with severity of sepsis. Material and Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study was conducted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and EmergencyDepartment (ED) for sepsis in NRI institute of medical sciences. A sixty five patients of both genders were included in the study. The study period were around 18 months from March 2021 to September 2022. Clinical examination and biochemical tests for blood levels of triglycerides, HDL and fasting blood glucose levels were done.Permission from Institutional Ethical Committee(IEC) were obtained. After getting permission from the Institutional Ethical Committee(IEC), information regarding the study were explained to the patients. Written and informed consent was obtained from them. Patients newly started on antidepressant treatment will be selected psychiatric department. Results: In the present study about 69%were in the age of 25 to 50 years. About 28% were in the age of more than 50 years. Only 3% were in the age of less than 25 years.Mean age is 48.87 and standard deviation is 3.21.About 65% were males and 35% were females.About 12% of patients required ventilation. About 77% survived. The relationship between serum lactate levels and outcome is statistically significant (P=<0.05) Conclusion: The fundamental goals of sepsis and septic shock care are early detection and immediate fluid resuscitation.

Aim and Objectives Aim:To study the visual acuity and operative complications after cataract surgery in patients with uveitis in tertiary care hospital Objectives: 1.To study factors affecting visual acuity. 2.To study surgical complications post cataract surgery in uveitis patients. Materials and Methods:A total of 18 patients were taken, data was collected from all the selected patients using a structured proforma meeting the objectives of the study. • Inclusion Criteria:1.All complicated cataract patients attending ophthalmology OPD 2.A quite eye (without inflammation) for atleast 3 months • Exclusion Criteria: 1.Cataract due to causes other than uveitis 2.Patients with posterior segment pathology Patients were scheduled for follow up on post op day 1, day 3 , day 7 , day 15, day 30, day 60, day 90. Results: The prevalance was more common in males compared to females. Out of 18 patients, 14 (77%) underwent SICS with PCIOL implantation and 4 (22%) underwent phacoemulsification with PCIOL. Intra-operative complications were noted as small non-dilating pupil, peripheral anterior synechiae, pupillary membrane, incomplete capsulorhexis, iris prolapse. In 7 (38%) patients sphincterectomy was done and in 4 (22%) patients stretch pupilloplasty was done. Immediate post-op complications that were noted were anterior chamber reaction and pigment dispersion. Late post-op complications that were noted were posterior capsular opacification Dense posterior synechiae were encountered in 12 (66%) patients and excessive conjunctival bleeding in 6(33%) patients. There was improvement in visual outcomes as follows 8 patients had 6/6 vision, 6 patients had 6/18 vision where as remaining 4 patients had 6/36 vision due to early development of posterior capsular opacification. Conclusion: Cataract development is a very common occurrence in any form of anterior and intermediate uveitis because of chronic intraocular inflammation, long term use of corticosteroids. Reported incidence of cataract in uveitic patients is about 25% in juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and 75% in chronic anterior uveitis. It is possible to achieve successful visual outcomes following cataract surgery in uveitis by proper management of pre-operative inflammation and close post-operative observation. Management of uveitic cataract requires careful case selection, proper timing of surgery, and close monitoring with appropriate handling of complications that may occur.

Varicose veins are characterized by abnormally twisted, dilated superficial vessels that are caused by the inefficient or defective valves within the vein. It is currently a prevalent disease with the incidence varying globally between 10% and 60%. The Unani Medicine (also called Greco-Arab medicine) is the ancient system of medicine practiced all around the world. According to the Unani classical text, Leech therapy (Irsal-e-Alaq) is one of the most important regimenal therapy for the successful treatment and management of varicose vein and a unique combination of Asbab-e-Sitta Zarooriyah (Six essential factors) is involved in the prevention of this disease. The research studies have proved that medicinal leech therapy displays anticoagulant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Leech saliva contains medicinally useful bioactive molecules like hirudin, histamine, etc. that shows anti-coagulant effect and hence improve microcirculation in diseases like varicose vein. Leech therapy is reliable, well tolerated, cost effective treatment that has the potential of preventing varicose vein complications. This review seeks to describe medicinal leech therapy, present therapeutic leech species, and highlight the processes by which leech saliva affects wound healing. Additionally, the review paper highlights the role of Asbab-e-Sitta Zarooriyah in prevention and control of varicose veins. Irregularity in diet and lifestyle may cause disturbance in normal body functioning, which may lead to lifestyle disorder that is a major risk factor thought to influence the susceptibility of varicose vein. The Unani System exerts a major influence on preventing the development of varicose vein by making modification in Asbab-e-Sitta Zarooriyah.
