The balance of ecological and economic utilization plays a real role in maintaining the stability of turtle nesting habitat on the coast. This study aims to calculate the suitability index and visitation carrying capacity (DDK) of sea turtle nesting habitat to maintain the sustainability of its population. The survey was conducted in December 2020 to January 2021 at Batu Kumbang Beach, Pulau Baru Village, Muko-Muko Regency. The analysis used was the Habitat Suitability Index (IKH), Tourism Conformity Index (IKW), and visitation carrying capacity (DDK). The Mukomuko Turtle Conservation Nature Lovers Community (KPAKPM) reported that this beach is still predominantly used as a nesting habitat for green turtles (Chelonia mydas), olive ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea), hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata), and leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) in 2018. At least 35 heads of various types landed and laid eggs here and further decreased in 2020 with only 17 heads. The IKH showed that about 84.06%, 75.36%, and 75.36% belonged to the highly appropriate category and were spread out at Stations 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The suitability of the coastal area is at a value of 2.0 ≤ IKW < 2.5, and is categorized as sustainable. The number of visitors allowed according to DDK is only 84 people per day. Batu Kumbang Beach needs to be managed in a balanced manner with a conservation approach and beach ecotourism to ensure the sustainability and sustainability of nesting habitats for various types of turtles.   Keywords: beach conservation, ecosystem, turtle nesting habitat

Perubahan Morfofisiologis Tanaman Terung pada Kondisi Muka Air Tanah Dangkal dan Tergenang di Fase Generatif 浅层和致密地下水表层条件下浮游植物在生成期的形态生理变化

Under suboptimal conditions, plants generally respond differently to survive. Plant responses include changes in morphology, anatomy, and physiology. This study aimed to investigate the response of eggplant to lack of oxygen due to shallow water table and waterlogging in the generative stage and explored their adaptability to be cultivated in riparian wetlands. This research was conducted from October 2017 to January 2018 in an experimental pond in the village of Demang Lebar Daun Palembang and at the Postgraduate Integrated Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Palembang. This study used a randomized block design with a shallow water table and waterlogging treatments: control (field capacity), water tables of 13 cm, 8 cm, and 3 cm below the soil surface (bss), and waterlogging 2 cm above the soil surface. The results showed that the water table 3 cm bss and waterlogging decreased the relative rate of leaf expansion, specific leaf fresh weight, and specific leaf water content. On the sixth day of the waterlogging treatment, the chlorophyll content decreased by 31.29%. On the other hand, the proline content in the leaves reached the highest level of concentration. After the sixth day, the chlorophyll content increased while the proline content decreased, and the eggplant recovered. Water table 3 cm bss and waterlogging caused the formation of aerenchyma tissue in the roots, which started one day after the treatment. Eggplant is an adaptive crop with a fairly high tolerance for shallow water tables and waterlogging.   Keywords: adaptation, aerenchyma, proline, riparian wetland, tolerance

Correlation of Rice Production and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in North Sulawesi Province 北苏拉威西省水稻生产与温室气体排放的相关性

This study aimed to reveal correlation, calculate significance, and discover the regression equation of rice production to Green House Gas (GHG) emission in North Sulawesi Province. The data on GHG emissions from rice cultivation (Gg CO2eq) was obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia. Data on rice production from wetland and dryland (Gg) was from the BP Statistical Review annual period of 2000-2021, both for North Sulawesi Province. Data analysis of correlation coefficient, F-test for Regression, and Simple Regression Analysis will be processed with the help application of MS Excel. The results show that the correlation between rice production and emission of rice cultivation in North Sulawesi Province is 0.53 and classified as a moderate correlation. The coefficient of determination stated that the emission of rice cultivation could be explained by about 28.6% from rice production. Therefore, rice production is statistically significant to the emission of rice cultivation with a 5% confidence level for North Sulawesi Province. Furthermore, this study found a regression equation, emission of rice cultivation is 112.67 + 0.516 times rice production.   Keywords: correlation coefficient, green house gas emission, rice production

Profil Fisiologis Pascapemberian Katuk Depolarisasi untuk Peningkatan Produktivitas Sapi Pedaging 去极化后的生理轮廓,以提高肉牛的生产力

  Katuk (Sauropus androgynus), a traditional herb that has been traditionally consumed by breastfeeding mothers to increase their milk production but still has some side effects, such as bronchiolitis obliterans and inhibition of calcium absorbtion. Removing the polar compounds in katuk leaf (depolarized katuk leaf) can eliminate those side effects without eliminating its side effect in increasing milk production and body growth in several production animals. This study was aimed to analyze the physiological status of beef cows consuming diet supplemented with depolarized katuk leaf as feed additive by measuring their hematology and blood mineral profile. Nine Brahman cross cows in the finisher stage, were grouped based on their diet: complete feed (control), complete feed plus depolarized katuk leaf powder (P1; 100 g per day), and complete feed plus depolarized katuk leaf pellet (P2; 100 g per day). Blood sample was collected after six weeks of consumption for analysis of hematological profiles including total erythrocytes, hematocrit, hemoglobin, total leukocytes, stress index (neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio); and blood mineral concentration (calcium and phosphorous). Dietary administration of depolarized katuk leaf did not have any statistically significant effect on all hematology parameters and blood mineral profiles. In conclusion, depolarized katuk leaf can be used as a growth promoter in beef cows without any negative effect on their physiological status.   Keywords: Hematologi, katuk depolarisasi, kesehatan, mineral, sapi pedaging

Optimisasi Pemanfaatan Pupuk Vermikompos dalam Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung di Tanah Entisol Pesisir Pantai 化化盐酸盐为促进沿海土地上玉米生长和产量的优化

Entisol has poor physical, chemical, and biological properties that limit the growth and yield of maize. This study aimed to obtain the correct dose of vermicompost to increase the growth and yield of maize on Entisols. The research was arranged using Randomized Block Design, consisted of 7 treatment doses of vermicompost fertilizer (0; 2.5; 5; 7.5; 10; 12.5; and 15 Mg ha-1 and 4 re;plications. The results showed that the dose of vermicompost significantly affected the growth and yield of maize in coastal entisol soils. The dose of 10 Mg ha-1 was the best on plant height, leaf number, fresh weight, plant dry weight, shoot fresh weight, fresh root weight, and shoot and root dry weight. Meanwhile, the dose of 12.5 Mg ha-1 produced the best maize yields for the fresh weight of husked ear per plant, fresh weight of unhusked ear per plant, and dry grain weight per plant, namely, 322.75 g, 286.66 g, and 173.4 g, respectively. The best results of fresh weight of husked ear per plot, fresh weight of unhusked ear per plot, and dry grain weight per plot were achieved by vermicomposting of 15 Mg ha-1, which were 11.28 kg, 9.72 kg, and 5.94 kg, respectively.    Keywords: coastal, Entisol, maize, vermicompost, yield

Meanwhile, the dose of 12.5 Mg ha-1 produced the best maize yields for the fresh weight of husked ear per plant, fresh weight of unhusked ear per plant, and dry grain weight per plant, namely, 322.75 g, 286.66 g, and 173.4 g, respectively. The purpose of this study is to estimate the costs borne by farming households due to peatland fires. The research location was Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, and 3 villages were selected representing the district i.e., Rengas Abang Village, Nusa Karta Village, and Jadi Mulya Village. Twenty samples of farmer households were taken as respondents. Data collection activities were carried out in August‒September 2021. Data analysis methods used Cost of Illness, Loss of Earnings, Equivalency Analysis, and Loss on Farming. Economic losses due to forest and peatland fires in Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency amounted to IDR773.338.080 with 1.91% of medical expenses, 0.27% of additional cost of drinking water, 41.91% of increase in farming costs, and losses of farmer income by 55.91%, or IDR557,160/week/farmer household with a total of 1,388 households. The costs paid by farming households in Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency due to peatland fires, increased substantially compared to the cost paid before the fire was occurred. It is concluded that in minimizing the impact of forest and peatland fires it is necessary to carry out interventions so that similar incidents do not recur in the future. Perilaku Konsumen Kopi: Proses Keputusan dan Kepuasan Konsumen Membeli Minuman Kopi Berlabel Fair Trade 咖啡消费者行为:决策过程和消费者满意度购买标有公平贸易标签的咖啡

Fair Trade (FT) coffee has a higher production volume than other coffee certifications. This phenomenon is triggered by a shift that is influenced consumer behavior patterns. This study analyzes consumer characteristics, purchasing decisions, and satisfaction in buying FT coffee. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was used as the research design. Data were obtained by distributing online questionnaires to 120 respondents using a voluntary sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that most respondents were male, with an undergraduate degree and unmarried status. Trends and easy to get drink influence the main reason for purchasing. The main source of information comes from friends who focus on the coffee's taste and flavor. Consumers will continue to buy coffee even though prices have increased. Through CSI calculation, customer satisfaction is worth 74.04%. The results of the IPA calculation show that the main attributes to be improved are price, sales location, and information provision. Peningkatan Masa Pakai Pisau Gergaji Tungsten Carbide Berpelapis dalam Pemotongan Medium Density Fiberboard

The scarcity and high cost of high-quality sawn timber has resulted in the switching of furniture industry to using composite wood such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) as the raw material for its products. One of the factors that affect production costs and product quality in the furniture industry is the quality of the cutting tool used in the cutting operation. The quality of the cutting tool could be improved through the addition of coatings on the surface of cutting tool (surface coating). The purpose of this study was to determine the life time of AlCrN, TiAlN, and TiN coated tungsten carbide (TC) tools in cutting MDF. Cutting operations were performed on a computer numerical control (CNC) router machine at feed per revolution (Frev) of 0,10, 0,15, 0,20, and 0,30 mm/rev. The TC cutting tool life was determined based on its wear and was calculated using the Taylor tool life formula. The results showed that coated TC cutting tool provided a better wear resistance and longer life than uncoated TC cutting tool. The low of Frev set in cutting MDF resulted in a lower wear and longer life of cutting tool. Oil palm plantation on peatlands is considered to contribute to increasing global warming by releasing CO2 as one of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. The addition of ameliorants, such as biochar and zeolite, can absorb CO2 from soil respiration and store and filter it in their molecular pores. This research aimed to study the effect of ameliorant application on the CO2 flux, water content, microbial population, and enzyme activities. Ameliorant was applied to peat soil with two factors. The first factor was an ameliorant combination with 6 treatment levels: control (A0); zeolite (A1); biochar (A2); zeolite:biochar 75:25; zeolite:biochar 25:75; zeolite:biochar 50:50, and the second factor was 3 levels dose of treatment (% w/w): 1.5%, 3%, and 4.5%. Peat flux CO2 and water content were measured monthly for four months in the laboratory. Without mixing with biochar (A1), the results showed that zeolite suppressed CO2 flux and suppressed the decrease of water content better than other ameliorant combinations. However, different ameliorant dosage percentages did not show any significant results. Ameliorant application and incubation affected the microbial population and enzyme activities, and the results were varied. Chemical characteristics changed after 4 months of incubation. In conclusion, our results indicate that only zeolite amendment can suppress CO2 flux and decrease water content but did not affect microbial population dynamics and enzyme activities.   Keywords: ameliorant, CO2 flux, enzyme activities, lignocellulolytic microbes, peat

PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (PSP) produces 1,222 tons fly ash per month from the operation of a coal boiler with a capacity of 1x23 MW. Fly ash has potential physical properties and mineral content. The Government Regulation No.22 of 2021, which classifies fly ash as a non-B3 waste, open up opportunities to utilize fly ash in a fertilizer product. In this project, the development of NPK 15-10-12 fertilizer with fly ash as a filler and fertilizer testing on tomato plants has been conducted. The use of fly ash as a filler in the granulation process has no effect on crushing strength and nutrient content of N, P, and K. The effects of using fly ash in the granulation process are in the consumption of water and in the granule drying process. The greater the ratio of fly ash the more water needed in the granulation process and eventually causes an increase in the moisture content in the final product. From the results of fertilizer test on tomato plants on the parameters of plant height, plant diameter, and fruit weight, the use of NPK with fly ash-filler did not give a significant difference compared to the use of NPK without fly ash. The use of fly ash as a filler also does not give any influence on the content of heavy metals in the fruit of tomato. Increase in pH of soil are observed in fertilization to NPK 15-10-12 using fly ash fillers.   Keywords: fly ash, granulation, NPK Fertilizer, tomatoes

From the results of fertilizer test on tomato plants on the parameters of plant height, plant diameter, and fruit weight, the use of NPK with fly ash-filler did not give a significant difference compared to the use of NPK without fly ash. The use of fly ash as a filler also does not give any influence on the content of heavy metals in the fruit of tomato.
