Recently, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has amended the law to Design for Safety in working design stage of construction work. There should be informed the disaster likelihood and severity of unit-works to decide risk of unit-works in Design for Safety. Therefore, the construction disaster data of OO corporation were classified as 24 unit-works and the disaster likelihood and severity of unit works were analyzed in this study. The safety management level of unit-works which based on analysis data was suggested 3 groups; special management and emphasis management, regular management. The results of this study can be used as basic information to perform Design for Safety in construction. And this information will be able to reduce the disaster.

Overseas Urban Development is even risky although it is desirable for market-seeking developed countries and developing countries facing urbanization problems. Both sides do not know each other well so that they cannot trust each other to work on this risky projects. This study constructs a frame, which is enhancing trust between developed and developing countries. The first step is to start from small collaborations than a huge project. At the charismatic position, a enterprise from developed country proceeds its first work with its most advanced skills, cooperating with developing countries. By localization with executing projects smaller and easier than urban development project, like constructing facility or buildings, this enterprise can get closer to native elites and get to be supported from native people. And then, they can start huge urban development project. The study begins with trust theory, adding case studies contributing to constructing Cooperative Overseas Urban Development Frame. Five cases were studied and applied by the international urban development framework.

This study aims to find implications for urban economic regeneration strategies of local initiative by analyzing of promoting regional strategic industries, both Seongnam and Goyang in terms of regional industrial policy, institution and specialized service agency. The main results based on the case studies are as follows. First, It is a top priority to formulate the policy direction, such as selecting strategic industries and prepare means for improving it. It should keep reliability and continuity for inducing economic units. Second, It is necessary to consider the effectiveness and diversity of institutions. The institutions to be formalized by municipal ordinance and rules for making the successful implementing system of policies. It is necessary to implement strategic industry policy linked with the central government or public organizations for expanding of a diversity of policies. It is necessary to change in viewpoint on the deregulation and tax break for the private sectors as inducements to achieve the regional economy activation. Third, It is necessary to introduce the specialized service agency to improve an effectiveness and efficiency of institutions and accelerate a network within economic units.

As the spatial structure of a region is evolving into a decentralized multi-nucli model, networked connection among cities in a region is emerging as an important issue to strengthen regional competitiveness. This paper focused on the limitation of current new town planning criteria which just suggest a uniform standard for economic self-sufficiency by new-town size, without representing the network characteristics of new town. If a new town is planned as a economic strongpoint within a region, it needs to secure appropriate industrial functions. This study classified the characteristics of new towns by network analysis and reviewed the economic self-sufficiency criteria by new town types. Using various network connectedness indices, the 1st and 2nd round new towns in the capital region were analyzed, and land-use distribution of new-towns in other countries were also examined comparatively. The network characteristics of new towns are classified as three types: mono-nucleus, distributed center, and dependent. Based on this classification, planning criteria for self-sufficiency were compared among 6 new towns. This study provides implications for the amendment of "the sustainable new town planning criteria" or the revision of development plans.

Recently developed trenchless construction methods ensure stability for the ground settlement by inserting steel pipes along the underpass section and integrating steel pipes before ground excavation to form pipe-roof. This study is to confirm the reinforcing effect of pipe-roof by measuring lateral earth pressure acting on the underpass constructed by the STS (Steel Tube Slab) construction method. For this purpose, lateral earth pressure was measured at the left and right side of the pipe-roof after installing earth pressure cells. As a result, lateral earth pressure was measured with considerable reduction because the integrated pipe-roof shared surcharge. Therefore, economic design for the underpass could be expected by sharing design load by pipe-roof. In addition, construction cost was analyzed according to the design-load sharing ratio by pipe-roof. As pipe-roof shares design load by 40%, the total construction cost can decrease by almost 10% in the case of four-lane underpass.

There are small box opening for inserting of electric lamp box in the slab of apartment. Around this box opening, we normally use the detailing of WWF or plastic ring strengthening to protect cracks induced by shrinkage. The shrinkage amount of slab box around was measured and analysed in order to consider validity of these strengthening methods and to find out economical alternative. Alternative of strengthening methods are normally used strengthening methods in construction companies, which are WWF strengthening, plastic ring strengthening and no strengthening methods. The shrinkage amount was measured using contact guage at the spot of tip attached around the box on slab of small area unit apartment which have small exclusive area below 59 ㎡ . Measured data shows that there are no big differences between all the 3 strengthening methods and Measure data range is -264 με ~ +216 με . Measured shrinkage is on trend slightly increase till 3~5weeks after removal of forms and then decrease. But amount of shrinkage are very low for all the slabs and there are no probabilities of concrete crack by shrinkage.

This study aims to provide basic materials for expanding application of green roof afforestation by analyzing structures' energy consumption reduction effects according to green roof afforestation as a planning means to cope with climate change. As the subjects, recently completed apartment buildings and service facilities of apartment houses where green roof afforestation was applied were selected. green roof afforestation of Extensive Green Roof(soil depth: 20cm) and Semi-Intensive Green Roof(soil depth: 40cm) in construction types was applied and design builders were utilized in order to compare energy reduction amount according to the application of green roof afforestation. According to the analysis result, all the buildings had energy reduction effect when green roof afforestation was applied.
