A new species of the genus Epischidia Rebel, 1901 (Lepidoptera: Pyraloidea, Pyralidae) from the Russian Far East 俄国远东野蝇属一新种,1901(鳞翅目:野蝇总科,野蝇科)

Epischidia margaritae sp. n. is described and illustrated from vicinity of Blagoveshchensk, Russia. The new species is most similar to the type species of the genus, Epischidia fulvostrigella (Eversmann, 1844), from which it differs by a brighter coloration of the forewings and a larger outgrowth on the forehead. The differences in the structure of the male genitalia of the new species from E. fulvostrigella are as follows: the presence of a large triangular harp on the valva, a relatively longer uncus, and a curved aedeagus with a large number of large spiny cornuti. In the structure of the female genitalia, the differences are in the V-shaped area of sclerotization of the antrum and a more extensive area of sclerotization on the bursa near the confluence of the ductus.

The genus Fillus Navás, 1919 (Ascalaphidae: Ascalaphinae) is recorded for the first time from Venezuela based on a female. This is the northern-most locality of the genus. It is preliminarily assigned to the Brazilian species F. amazonicus Machado et Rafael, 2011.

Estimation of biomass of dung beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) from the Russian Far East 俄罗斯远东地区屎壳郎(鞘翅目:金龟子总科)生物量的估算

Data on dry biomass and body length are given for 47 species of dung beetles from the southern part of the Russian Far East. The length-to-body weight relation in specimens of 47 species of dung-beetles was calculated, to enable biomass to be estimated from information about body length. Shown, the selection of optimal models of length-weight relationship of dung-beetles depends on the types of trophodynamic relationships of beetles and its size classes. When conducting ecological studies using such an indicator as dry biomass, it is necessary to determine the biomass of individual species from regional faunas, and to determine the biomass along the length of the body of beetles, it is necessary to use exclusively models built also for regional faunas.

A key to the worker caste of all known Nepalese species of the genus is provided.

Carpelimus (Trogophloeus) nigerfrontis sp. n. is described and illustrated from the Moluccas (Indonesia). By flattened body and light brown head with a black anterior frons the new species is similar to species of the closely related genus Mendaxinus Gildenkov, 2004 but according to the structure of the 3-segmented tarsus, aedeagus and spermatheca it undoubtedly belongs to the genus Carpelimus Laech, 1819. The new species differs from all known species of Carpelimus by the structure of aedeagus.

Orthosinus dudkoi sp. n. is described and illustrated from Eastern Nepal. The new species differs from O. direptus (Marshall, 1931) in the smaller body sizes, more gently punctate pronotum, and the elytra only slightly wider than the pronotum with nearly parallel sides. It is the first record of the genus Orthosinus from Nepal.

Synanthedon bastak sp. n. is described and illustrated from the Bastak Nature Reserve in the eastern part of Jewish Autonomous Oblast in Russia. This new species belongs to the Synanthedon andrenaeformis species-group and is very close to S. soffneri Špatenka, 1983, from which it differs in the shape of the external transparent area of the forewing and some details in the male genitalia. The female and larvae of a new species are unknown.
