The aim of this research was to know whether Herringbone technique was effective to be applied on students’ reading comprehension through narrative text. The sample of this research was grade VIII-E students which consisted of 31 students at MTs PAB 1 Helvetia, Medan. The data of this research was students’ reading comprehension score on pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed by using Paired Sample T-Test formula which was calculated by SPSS 2.2. From the data analysis, it was found that the T-Test value was higher than the T-Table value (10,085 > 2,042). It showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. 摘要

摘要本研究针对Deegan(2006)提出的人字形阅读技巧进行研究。人字形阅读技巧对学生叙事文本阅读理解的影响。本研究的目的是了解人字形阅读技巧在学生叙事文本阅读理解中的应用是否有效。本研究的样本为棉兰省赫尔维蒂亚医学院1分校的31名八年级至五年级学生。本研究的数据是学生在测试前和测试后的阅读理解分数。数据分析采用配对样本t检验公式,采用SPSS 2.2软件计算。从数据分析中发现,T-Test值高于T-Table值(10085 > 2042)。结果表明,备择假设(Ha)被接受,零假设(Ho)被拒绝。研究还表明,人字形技术在棉兰大学叙事文本教学中对学生的€™阅读理解有显著影响。关键词:人字形技术;学生阅读理解;配对样本t检验公式
