This paper builds on Nonaka 's theory of organizational knowledge creation, and related research, to present and test a research model that focuses on knowledge conversion in CT-supported group work. The model is validated through a laboratory experiment that involved 44 teams of geographically dispersed members. Three levels of technology support were tested. The results demonstrate that the level of technology support impacts knowledge conversion, which influences the teams' shared understanding.
