There currently exists a plethora of standards for software engineering, with IEEE having the most comprehensive set. Despite the abundance of standards, Ontario Hydro and Atomic Energy Canada Ltd (AECL) found that the existing standards did not meet our needs and hence undertook to write our own standards for software engineering.
