The antenna exhibits small dimensions of 12.2×5.1×0.7 mm3. It is suitable for SoP integrated RF-front end modules operating at 2.45 GHz. It makes an efficient use of the multilayer capabilities provided by LTCC technology, where the matching circuit components are fully embedded into the substrate. This makes the antenna intrinsically matched and excludes the need for soldering any additional matching components. Feeding of the antenna is done on its backside using a miniaturized HSC surface mount connector.
