The dual band characteristic is achieved by modifying the signal strip of CPW as two different monopoles. The newly developed antenna is resonating at two different frequencies, 2.4GHz and 5.2GHz, making it suitable for Wi-Fi applications. The properties of the antenna such as return loss, gain and radiation pattern are analyzed and optimized using ANSYS HFSS and validated by measurement.
