The paper explores the causes of the problem. Then it discusses some of the work that has been done to observe the phenomena of short term voltage stability either online via PMU or by offline studies. Once the cause and location is identified, then it explores the work that is currently being available in the literature to address the issue. Different researchers have identified several methods to find optimal locations and sizing of dynamic reactive power device that needs to be installed in the power grid to resolve delayed voltage recovery or instability issues.
