This protocol is called directed flooding, and is a descendant of the flooding routing protocol, which consumes less energy, while maintaining high levels of fault-tolerance. This is done by sending data in a specific aperture instead of broadcasting, which is used in the traditional flooding algorithm. A simulation of this protocol was performed.
