Generally, RL are autonomous machine learning algorithms that include a learning process that interacts with the problem, which is under study in order to search for good quality solutions in reasonable time. At each decision point of the algorithm, the current state of the problem is revised and decisions about the future of the searching strategy are taken. The objective of this work is to summarize, in brief, recently proposed studies using reinforcement learning strategies for solving project scheduling problems and production scheduling problems, as well.
