It provides a possibility of identifying the market as strategically attractive. The Orel region is chosen as the object of study. The intensity of the industry’s competitive forces is determined using the M. Porter model. The maximum level of threat is marked by the “substitute goods”. The threat from new players, the threat of losing current customers, the threat from suppliers and the threat of intra-industry competition are on average. In general, the situation in the regional market under study is marked as relatively favorable.
