摘要

指纹图像中的奇点包含着重要的信息,因此对奇点的位置、数量和类型进行检测具有十分重要的意义。庞加莱指数法不能准确地检测出拱形指纹和一些帐篷状拱形指纹中的奇异点。为了解决这个问题,我们提出了一种改进的庞加莱指数法。实验结果表明,该方法优于庞加莱指数法。

A New Algorithm for Detecting Singular Points in Fingerprint Images
The singular points of a fingerprint image contain important information, so it is very significant to detect the position, number and type of singular points. The Poincare Index method can’t accurately detect the singular points in arch fingerprints and some tented arch fingerprints.
