ON THE ISSUE OF DIFFUSE POLLUTION OF WATER BODIES

An example of water bodies diffuse pollution control at the legislative level in foreign experience is given; it is shown that, in general the US water policy is aimed at monitoring whether the amount of discharges from non-point and point sources in the territory under consideration exceeds standards. The Single Unified system of state environmental monitoring (state environmental monitoring), created to ensure the environmental protection in Russia, is analyzed. A review of the system of regulatory documents state that may be relevant to the management of diffuse runoff is carried out, which revealed that currently the diffuse pollution sources in Russia are outside the monitoring, control and water protection systems.
