Especially femto cells for small-distance indoor environments are of major interest. This paper presents an evaluation of the embedded vector processor (EVP) as one possible principal component of an SDR femto-sized base station. We present results of our performance analysis of selected W-CDMA baseband algorithms. We give a detailed description of the mapping of a SIMO chip- equalizer and an HSDPA downlink spreader on the EVP.
