A Bayesian CFAR (Bay-CFAR) processor is developed and analyzed. The Bay-CFAR processor exploits a priori knowledge of a nonhomogeneous clutter environment to considerably improve the detection performance relative to a classical cell averaging CFAR (CA-CFAR) processor.
