Mathematicians were the first to pay attention to these surfaces, among which are names known all over the world: Lagrange, Laplace, Poisson, Steiner, Plateau. Scientists have noticed that the analytical expression of minimal surfaces is found in research in the field of physics and chemistry, which led to discoveries awarded the Nobel Prize.
