It inhabits secondary forests, fruit orchards, as well as palm and coconut plantations. Fruit is the main component of its diet, but some arthropods are also eaten. Prevost's squirrel, Callosciurus prevostii (Desmarest, 1822), is a diurnal, medium-sized, arboreal squirrel.
