Fabrication of Large Aspheric Optics Using Computer Controlled Optical Surfacing (Invited paper)
In the near future many large optics are required for astronomy and space applications. The use of
computer controlled optical surfacing provides a way to meet this challenging requirement. This
paper describes such an automated fabrication operation, the process, and equipment. Also, the
automated fabrication of six large aspheric optics is reported.
