This system requires the use of high input to output voltage DC-DC converters to act as buffer between the MVDC bus and the load centers within the ship. The load lines to these converters which often involve other DC-DC converters and inverters, will be powering complex machinery and other sensitive systems. So, proper regulation and control of the DC-DC converter is necessary. This paper proposes a Fuzzy Logic Controller implemented on Buck Converter used in an MVDC Distribution System and compares the performance with a conventional PI controller.
