Modeling of real-time signal timing for multi-intersection in urban traffic network
This paper developed a real-time signal timing model which was to be integrated into multi-intersection in urban area, to some extent, relieving the traffic congestion. We firstly analyzed the current traffic flow by using release matrix at a single intersection and multi-intersection respectively. Integrated with the optimal Webster split algorithm, the optimal real-time signal timing model, which realized non-fixed cycle and non-fixed split signal control, was built to minimize total delay time of vehicles at the multi-intersection. Then, we simulate the model using on traffic flow based on Passion distribution. Results, which are compared with conventional model, manifest the promising properties of proposed model.
