Stocking without the chemical specifications associated with lack of planning and control leads to personal injury and property damage. Therefore, according to Miranda and Valença (2009), the storage of chemicals should be organized in order to obtain an adequate disposal of the reagents in order to avoid accidents and avoid unnecessary purchases. With this, this work aims at the elaboration and implementation of the organization of chemical reagents by means of an incompatibility matrix. To do so, it was necessary to make a survey about what were and where were the chemical reagents of the chemistry laboratories of the University Estácio de Sá Campus Macaé. After this survey, a matrix of incompatibility was elaborated, so that the reagents were regrouped accordingly (Oliveira, 2007). In addition, the cabinets and shelves were rearranged according to the groups provided in the matrix. A visual identification system was also carried out so that everyone who had access to the reagent warehouse understood the incompatibility separation scheme. For stock control, a spreadsheet with the correspondence between each reagent, its location and quantity was elaborated. An accident action plan was also developed for each class taught, which also included the FISQP information of the reagents used in that in each practical class. With this data collection, it was possible to organize the reagents in a described way, which resulted in a better use of the internal spaces of the cabinets and shelves, facilitating the location and handling of the reagents. The results also showed that the elaboration of the control worksheet In this way, the study allowed to conclude that the implementation of the reagent incompatibility matrix avoids accidents, reduces the loss of reagents by degradation with time or by wrong storage.
