Secondly, the conceptual design of a 1 GW VSC-HVDC converter platform is analyzed with respect to the main electrical circuit and topside and foundation structure. In the end, a hydrodynamic and structural finite element analysis is performed to establish the necessary structural dimensions of the topside, jacket structure, and piles.
