The world is looking for the applications of renewable energy sources to reduce pollution. The electrical power generation from renewable energy sources is the best way to minimize the consumptions of fossil fuels and apart from many, PV systems are most popular in worldwide due to its many applications and simplicity. Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) based electrical power generation system from solar energy is one of the best renewable energy source. However, the solar irradiance is continuously varying and not available in night time. Hence, an effective energy storage device must be required to provide continuous power supply to the load. Researchable batteries are most suitable to work as energy storage devices due to its fast response compared to other. Unfortunately, the PV system is unable to produce constant and sufficient voltage to charge the battery due to variable irradiance. Therefore an DC to DC converters are required to maintain constant voltage at charging terminals of battery as well as can work as maximum power point tracker (MPPT) device of PV system for it best utilization. In this research article, an effective DC to DC boost converter along with controller is proposed for fast charging of battery from PV system as well as operated as MPPT device.
