Favoriser le développement de l’habitation communautaire pour personnes francophones aînées vivant en situation linguistique minoritaire : résultats d’une recherche-action en partenariat avec une communauté rurale du Nouveau-Brunswick

Résumé Le vieillissement de la population et l’ampleur des changements qu’il implique obligent les acteurs sociaux francophones des communautés de langue officielle en situation minoritaire (CLOSM) à revoir leurs façons de faire. L’approche en développement des communautés est un moyen pour stimuler les innovations sociales. Notre article a pour but de présenter un projet de recherche-action sur l’habitation communautaire en contexte CLOSM. Dans la première partie, nous présentons la situation du vieillissement de la population au Nouveau-Brunswick et les enjeux de l’habitation pour personnes aînées dans la province. Dans la deuxième partie, nous décrivons la méthodologie qui sous-tend la collecte (une série d’entrevues de groupes et un forum communautaire) et l’analyse des données. Dans la troisième partie, nous exposons les résultats autour de trois thèmes (les cadres bâti, social et organisationnel). Dans la dernière partie, nous proposons trois pistes de réflexion sur le développement des habitations communautaires pour personnes aînées francophones vivant dans une CLOSM. Abstract The aging population and the scale of the changes it entails are forcing Francophone social actors from official language minority communities (OLMC) to review their ways of doing things. The community building approach is a way to stimulate social innovation. Our article aims to present an action research project on community housing in an OLMC context. In the first part, we present the situation of the aging population in New Brunswick and the issues of housing for older adults in the province. In the second part, we describe the methodology behind the data collection (a series of group interviews and a community forum) and the data analysis. In the third part, we present the results around three housing themes (built, social and organizational frameworks). In the last part, we propose three avenues for reflection on the development of community housing for Francophone older adults living in OLMC.
