The electromagnetic field method is more efficient to analyze the electromagnetic environment of lightning strike at large and complex buildings. By adopting the finite element method (FEM) in the frequency domain, the electromagnetic field method is used to evaluate the magnetic field in a building and validated by comparing with experiment results. With this method, a simplified model of the 488.9m ultra high-rise building, Chengdu Zhonghai Tower, is established and the magnetic field distribution inside this building is evaluated and analyzed.
