A hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulator of rain fade channel is design and implemented based on field programmable gate array (FPGA), which can provide rain attenuation prediction under different rainfall conditions whose statistics (e.g. distribution of attenuation, distribution of fade durations) are almost identical to those of measured data by using time series generator.
