Does cigarette smoking effect the physical activity of the university students
RESULTS: The smoking frequency was 8.9% among the students. Smokers and non-smokers differed signifi cantly from each other in the analyses of the parameters like the age, gender, height and being involved in the social insurance system (p<005). According to the physical activity assessing scale (PAAS) stair, PAAS sport and PAAS total variables, physical activity measurements were different between the smokers and non-smokers (p<0.05). According to the total physical activity score from PAAS, 16 (80%) smoker students were sedentary. Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that higher levels of physical activity reduced the probability of smoking (p<0.05). Moreover, the male gender increased the probability of smoking (p<0.05).
