EXPERIENCE IN USING SPECT/CT OF SKELETAL MUSCLE TISSUE TO REHABILITATION PLANNING
A study of a patient with damage to skeletal muscle tissue was performed using single-photon emission computed tomography combined with computed to-mography using 99m-Tc-tetrophosmin to assess the rehabilitation potential of muscle tissue and rehabili-tation treatment planing. The study consisted of sev-eral stages, including a native SPECT/CT and SPECT/CT after electrical myostimulation of damaged muscle tissue. A visual assessment of structural chang-es, the distribution of 99m-Tc-tetrophosmin in tissues, and the calculation of the percentage of accumulation of 99m-Tc-tetrophosmin in the area of interest relative to the administered dose was performed. The results obtained allow us to judge the low rehabilitation po-tential and bad prognosis for the restoration of func-tion in a patient with post-traumatic muscular atro-phy. SPECT/CT can be used to assess the rehabilita-tion potential of damaged skeletal muscle tissue. Work continues to explore the possibility of using SPECT/CT for dynamic evaluation of the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures.
