Research on Faulty Section Location Method for Active Distribution Network
The integration of distributed generators (DGs) changes the fault characteristics when a fault occurs in the feeder of distribution network, which makes the traditional faulty section location (FSL) method not applicable. In response to this problem, by analyzing the positive sequence fault component (PSFC) of current in distribution network with different types of DGs, a novel differential protection method is proposed in this paper. This method can adapt to the needs of FSL in different scenarios with high sensitivity. And it is not affected by the fault ride-through current. Finally, a simulation model is constructed in PSCAD/EMTDC to verify the validity of the proposed method.
