除了大数据和人工智能之外,物联网(IoT)是近年来受到广泛关注的一项新技术。由于物联网传感器采集的数据是与位置信息相关的,可以说物联网与GIS是紧密相关的。GIS以位置信息为基础,结合空间数据和传感器数据,提取新的信息。多样的空间数据对提取各种信息具有重要作用,因此需要空间数据基础设施。空间数据基础设施是由各种组织开发并通过电子媒体或网络提供的基础数据。本文列举了物联网在各个领域的应用及其使用的空间数据,讨论了空间数据的利用现状、趋势及其基础设施。
