Personal Characteristics of Young People Depending on the Sign of the Zodiac

The article presents a description of astrology, its historical and everyday significance. The specificity of practical methods of astrology is considered. The interaction of astrology and psychology is shown. The debatable nature of astrology as a science and its influence on personality is noted. In the practical part, a study is presented, the purpose of which is to identify personal qualities in young people, depending on the sign of the zodiac. The Big Five questionnaire and comparison using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were applied. The study involved students in the amount of 195 people in the age range from 18 to 32 years. Research base – Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. Each of the subjects was assigned a specific zodiac sign based on their date of birth. As a result, significant differences were obtained in three integrative factors. In conclusion, it is concluded that some personal characteristics are still pronounced in people with a similar zodiac sign. However, in order to reliably confirm the fact of the presence of certain personality traits in respondents with the same zodiac sign, it is necessary both to increase the empirical sample and expand the diagnosed personal qualities.
