The care provided by this professional through the ostomy situation, goes from the moment of its indication to the immediate and late postoperative or outpatient phase aiming at the autonomy and rehabilitation of the patient. To identify through a review of scientific studies the contributions of stomal therapy to nursing care for people with intestinal ostomies. This is a literature review research of a qualitative approach of the descriptive reflective analysis type. The searches were performed in the BVS and Google Scholar databases between February and April, 2023. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were made. Articles were selected that had context with the descriptors presented and with the objective of this study.
