The effect of clonidine hydrochloride (an agonist of α2-adrenergic receptors) on the parameters of electrical activity of the atrial myocardium during pacing was studied. Clonidine hydrochloride in working cardiomyocytes with pacing causes a decrease in the action potential duration at the level of 50 and 90% in adult rats. In 1- and 3-week-old rats, this agonist causes an increase in the action potential duration at the level of 50 and 90%.
