La plus grande visibilisation ainsi que les avancées scientifiques et éthiques portées par le consortium international de la World Professional Association for Transgender Health ont profondément modifié les référentiels d’accompagnement des personnes trans. Si le vécu transidentitaire est aujourd’hui considéré comme une variation et non une question de pathologie, le principe de l’autodétermination de la personne concernée constitue un appui central à toute proposition d’accompagnement et de soins supports aux trajectoires de transition de genre.

Increased visibility and the scientific and ethical advances brought about by the international consortium of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health have profoundly altered the frames of reference for supporting trans people.
