The Composition and Organic Matter of Bottom Sediments and Soil in the Drainage Basin Varvarinskoe Lake (Bolshoy Solovetsky Island)
Abstract
The results of determining the particle size distribution and organic matter concentration in core samples of Lake Varvarinskoe bottom sediments and the soil of the coastal zone are presented. The concentration of organic matter in bottom sediments is shown to closely correlate with their particle size distribution.
