Currently, numerous research groups have conducted investigations on the adsorption of organic dyes in industrial wastewater. Herein, this work focuses on the selective adsorption approach towards dyes molecules based on an Anderson-type polyoxometalate (noted as <b>POM-1</b>) as potential adsorbent, which has been functionalized with organic ligands to enhance its negative charge. Adsorption experiments revealed that <b>POM-1</b> displayed efficient adsorption capabilities towards the cationic dye methyl blue with almost complete adsorption within 25 min, and the adsorption rate was calculated as 98%.
