In addition to the morphological characteristics, phylogenetic analysis of the mitochondrial cytochrome b further confirmed that Yunnanilus yangi sp. nov. is a member of Yunnanilus. 在中国云南省红河哈尼族彝族自治州弥勒县的珠江上游（南盘江）描述了一个新种（鲤形目：Nemacheilidae）Yunnanilus yangi sp.nov.。云南滇金丝猴新种（Yunnilus yangi sp. nov.）与该属其他种的区别在于：（1）上唇有中间切口；（2）上颌无齿状突；（3）背鳍起源靠近吻端基部而非尾鳍基部；（4）盆鳍第i、6-7条；（5）尾鳍第16条（与第14-16条相比）有分枝。根据形态学比较，Yunnilus yangi sp.除了形态特征外，线粒体细胞色素 b 的系统进化分析进一步证实了云南滇鳗属新种是云南滇鳗的一个成员。此外，Yunnanilus yangi sp. nov.与云南真菌其他种在细胞色素 b 基因上的遗传距离最小，达到 6.33%。
