Physicians working in the perioperative space are frequently called upon to make decisions regarding continuing or stopping certain medications. For patients with psychiatric disorders, the overwhelming recommendation is to continue therapy with heightened awareness of anesthesiologists regarding potential side effects or medication interactions.
