Although coagulation biomarkers for the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of VTE have been investigated, none of them have the necessary clinical validation or diagnostic accuracy. Proteomics holds the potential to uncover new biomarkers and thrombotic pathways that impact the risk of thrombosis.
