Thematic Agendas in the Russian Mass Media of General Interest: Representation, Proportion, and Dynamics (2017–2023)

Abstract

Thematic areas of journalism have a significant impact on the formation of a common agenda. However, the mechanisms of their formation, development, and mutual influence in modern conditions have not systematically presented in media studies. Special attention should be paid to the question of the impact on the thematic agenda of current public challenges. In this study, the first step has been taken in the direction of this work: a conclusion has been drawn regarding the relevance of topics in the headings of leading media, a brief overview of the dynamics of mentions and the proportions of the combination of agendas has been made, and directions for further development have been outlined.
